What are the HCG Weight Loss Side Effects?

On March 25, 2011, in Fitness, Weight Loss, Health, by GuestPoster

HCG hormone is now being used in the form of sprays, tablets, homeopathic drops, or injections. If you do not want to opt for the injections, you may choose to follow oral HCG diets. Take note that it is important for you to adhere into the diet protocol throughout the regime and this includes the consumption of not more than 500 calories per day. Although lots of people, especially those who have already tried this diet, testified that this diet is effective when it comes to learning how to lose weight, it is important to know that this type of diet comes with various side effects as well.

Most of the side effects of the HCG diet are related to the low calorie intake. If you are following an oral HCG diet, then you are not allowed to consume more than 500 calories per day. Because of this, you may experience food cravings and there are times when you will also feel very irritated. This routine can help you lose weight; however, it may call for various conditions such as dizziness, nausea, digestive problems, and headache. Compared to oral HCG drops, experts would recommend the used of HCG injections instead.

However, HCG injections have side effects as well. For women, these side effects may include blood clotting problems, breast tenderness, depression, restlessness, water retention, stomach cramps, and mood swings. For women who are taking HCG injections, they may also develop a condition known as OHSS or Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome. With this condition, women may also experience vomiting, difficulty breathing, excess urination, nausea, and weight gain. Both men and women may experience nausea, weakness, headaches, and water retention and skin rashes. One of the most serious side effects of HCG injection in men is the development of a condition known as gynecomastia or the enlargement of the breast. There are some cases when dieters may also experience various skin problems after administering HCG injections. Although most of these side effects are considered minor, it is still best to consult your physician for medical attention.

Take note that these HCG weight loss side effects are always a possibility since you are following a very low calorie diet. In order to avoid any of these side effects, make sure to consult your physician first and ask for advice regarding the use of HCG injections for weight loss. By consulting your physician, you will be able to determine if this diet is for you and if it will not be harmful to your present medical condition.

Fat burning foods: fact or fiction?

On February 6, 2011, in Fitness, Weight Loss, by GuestPoster

If you’re one of the great many Americans struggling to control your weight, you’ve probably had about all the diet advice you can possibly deal with.  Unfortunately, most of it is dead wrong, particularly if you’ve taken any dietary advice from the FDA or your general-practitioner physician.

Why is that?  Without venturing into politics, the FDA is chaired by agricultural business veterans who have an interest in selling grain, seed, and pesticide to consumers to keep the agribusiness lobby content.  And if your physician is like most physicians, he or she graduated from both college and medical school without taking a single nutrition course.  Yikes.

So it’s no wonder that there’s not much decent dietary information available to help you start down the path of clean eating.  It’s just hard to find long-term diets that work.  To boot, you’ve probably heard that some mystical formula exists surrounding a dietary miracle called “fat burning foods.”  Almost.  But not quite.

Foods don’t burn fat.  Your body burns fat.  But certain foods create the metabolic conditions conducive to your body utilizing fat as its energy source, rather than dietary sugars.  If you guessed that the kinds of foods that encourage your body to get its energy from fats don’t contain much in the way of sugars, you’re absolutely spot-on.  In fact, the biochemical pathways by which refined sugar intake leads to obesity are very well documented.  But they’re not very well publicized.

Unfortunately, we load our factory-produced foods with high fructose corn syrup and other evils, leaving our highly efficient metabolic fat storage mechanism – honed over thousands of years of hunting and gathering – completely overwhelmed by the amazing glut of available food energy.  What does our body do with this excess energy?  Packs it away for a rainy day.  On our rumps.

Interested in creating fat burning conditions in your body?  Here’s the extremely short but powerful list of fat burning foods: eat meat and vegetables, seeds and nuts, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar.  That’s it.  Nothing cosmic.  I lost 42 pounds and 70 cholesterol points following this simple dietary prescription.
