There are wonderful things available for children these days. Even if you’re on a budget, you can provide your little ones with things which make their childhood memorable. From toys to superhero underwear, there are some things that give a child’s life a little something extra. Dinosaur bedding is one example. Children love sleeping with pictures of dinosaurs all over their sheets! Well, it stands to reason, kids are crazy about dinosaurs.
But every child grows up. And that dinosaur comforter and sheet set you bought are good quality. They still have several years of good use in them. What should you do with the dinosaur bedding now? Here are 3 suggestions.
1. Hand It Down
Are there younger sisters or brothers in the family? Ten to one, they’ve been drooling over their sibling’s dinosaur bedding for quite a while. Even if there aren’t any children old enough in your own family, you probably have friends with children in the right age range. Goodness knows, raising children isn’t easy or cheap, and someone is likely to be able to use the sheets your child has grown out of.
2. Use the Sheets to Make Curtains
Do you have a game room or playroom? If you decide to make curtains for a playroom, it will be a fun and inexpensive way to set up a room that the kids can call all their own. If you make the curtains for a game room, the curtains can be a quirky statement. This only works if the sheets are made of plain cotton or poly-cotton though. Don’t try it with stretchy jersey sheets.
3. Sell Them
Parents who are budget-conscious tend to be garage sale cruisers. They know that children love to have what’s cool. Since dinosaur bedding is definitely cool, and can be rather expensive, selling your unneeded bedding at a garage sale, or even online, would not only put some money in your pocket, but would also help other parents out.
If those three ideas don’t work for you, remember, when it comes to doing things with used dinosaur bedding, all you need to do is let your creative side out. Use the sheets to make stuffed animals, or cover pillows. Donate the dinosaur bedding to a shelter. Make a Halloween costume, and after the costume has been worn, put them in the used toy box and donate it to charity. Those animals that lived so long ago, can do a lot for people living today.
